Why the delay from signing up to getting a login? At EdQuest we aren't like other software companies. When you sign up, our team creates a unique URL for you and your students to access. This ensures the utmost security and provides you with your own, unique server to house your product. Currently, this process is not automated and our dev team need to set this up for you behind the scenes before we push out your login email containing your unique access URL and login details. We apologies for any frustrations in this process and are working to streamline it. Due to time zones, this may take 24 hours to complete from the time we are notified of your subscription to the dev team creating your instance and then sending you the greatly awaited login.

How does EdQuest improve student engagement?EdQuest boosts student engagement by transforming the classroom into an interactive, story-driven adventure. Instead of passively completing tasks, students take on the role of characters in a fantasy world—earning XP, collecting gold, unlocking achievements, and working as a team to complete quests. This approach taps into what motivates students: autonomy, purpose, and a sense of progress. By gamifying everyday learning activities and behaviour expectations, EdQuest creates a classroom culture where students are excited to participate, support one another, and challenge themselves. It also includes real-time feedback, personal / class-wide goals, and personalised avatars that give students a sense of personality and choice in their learning. Whether it’s levelling up for helping a classmate or earning a badge for completing a tough task, EdQuest makes growth visible and rewarding. The result? More focus, fewer disruptions, and a genuine increase in motivation—because learning feels like an adventure, not a chore.

What makes EdQuest better than other gamified learning platforms?EdQuest stands apart because it was designed by educators, for educators—specifically by a highly successful and award-winning teacher with deep experience in innovation, STEM, and gamification. It’s not just a fun classroom add-on; it’s a purpose-built system grounded in educational research and aligned with proven frameworks like Self-Determination Theory, 21st Century Skills, and the Quality Teaching Framework. While other platforms often focus on flashy visuals or surface-level fun, EdQuest was built with intention. Every mechanic—XP, gold, avatars, quests, and classroom roles—has been carefully designed to enhance motivation, improve behavior, support social-emotional learning, and boost academic outcomes. What truly sets EdQuest apart is its foundation: a deep understanding of what works in real classrooms, combined with a commitment to research-backed strategies. It's not just engaging—it’s effective.

Is EdQuest a replacement for Classcraft? If you enjoyed Classcraft, you’ll love EdQuest. It offers a similar gamified experience—turning learning into an adventure with XP, rewards, character roles, and team-based challenges. While not a direct replacement, EdQuest was designed by educators to carry forward the best parts of gamified learning and behaviour management, with updated features, flexible tools, and fresh fantasy-themed storytelling for today’s classrooms.

How does gamification support learning outcomes?Gamification supports learning outcomes by transforming how students engage with content, peers, and their own progress. When classroom activities are framed as challenges, quests, or games, students are more likely to feel motivated, stay focused, and take an active role in their learning. Research shows that gamification doesn't just make learning more fun—it improves it. Studies highlight its impact on: Motivation: By tapping into reward systems like points, progression, and achievements, students are more likely to participate consistently and push through challenges. Mastery and memory: Gamified feedback loops reinforce correct responses and allow for repeated practice in a low-stakes environment—strengthening recall and understanding over time. Behavior and engagement: Game mechanics like team goals, classroom roles, and real-time feedback have been shown to reduce disruptions, increase on-task behavior, and foster a positive learning culture. Performance: Gamification encourages self-regulation and persistence, helping students improve outcomes across a wide range of academic subjects. While EdQuest incorporates motivation theories like Self-Determination Theory, its design also draws from a wide body of educational research—including behavioral psychology, formative feedback practices, and student-centered learning frameworks. What is gamified learning?Gamified learning is the use of game elements—like points, levels, rewards, avatars and storylines—in a learning environment to boost motivation and engagement. It is a very broad term that can encompass a vast array of tools, psychological techniques or visual styles. Instead of just listening to lessons or completing worksheets, students complete quests, earn XP, unlock achievements, gain gold / lose health and work as a team—just like in a game. In EdQuest, gamified learning transforms the classroom into an adventure. Students become characters in a fantasy world, where learning is part of their journey. It’s not just about making learning fun—it’s about creating a space where students feel motivated, supported, and excited to grow.

How safe is my data?EdQuest is an Australian company and uses region-based Azure servers. Not only that, but we deliberately don't store any personal student information except teacher-designated student Ids and usernames. Beyond that, a Microsoft login is available for teachers to ensure that you have full access to the data stored with your account. This ensures your data is not only safe, but nothing of value is being stored to put you or your students at risk.

Do you offer free trials?Unfortunately, we cannot offer trials at this time. As a newly forged company, the magical portals that keep EdQuest running (otherwise known as servers) demand a cost for every spell cast. To keep the gates open and make the platform affordable for teachers, we’ve set our subscription rates as close as possible to these server costs. With a full teacher licence, it works out to about $1.10 per student for an entire year (even less in USD)— cheaper than a single cup of coffee each week, yet enough to unlock a year’s worth of quests, characters, and adventures. While other programs may lure you in with the promise of free entry, their gates will not stay open without a toll. Once you’ve invested your time and treasure in their world, you may find yourself at their mercy when the charges begin. With EdQuest, the path is clear from the start—you know the cost before you set forth. To help you glimpse the adventure ahead, we’ve filled our website and YouTube channel with walkthroughs, demos, and feature showcases—so you can explore the realm of EdQuest before you commit to the quest.
